This is going to be a long entry, so use the "LJ Cuts" below as shortcuts to skip sections. Any items marked with (P) have pictures at the end of this post.

I visited Maliandao Tea Street(P) thrice: twice I visited the four-story "tea city" building, and on the final visit I perused the numerous modest street shops and ventured into Beijing Pu'er Chadu: a 2-story pu'er-only mall containing about 80 shops.

For your reference, Maliandao is located in the western Xuanwu district, less than 10 minutes by taxi from the Changchunjie stop on the blue line metro. Most shops are on the main street, Maliandao Lu, including the four-story Tea City. Beijing Pu'er Chadu is catty-corner from the "tea city", one or two buildings down the cross street.
