Recently, there have been a lot of discussions over the Menghai Puerh tea products, especially for those tea cakes produced in or before 2003 such as regular "Red Dayi Brand", "Purple Dayi Brand", and the specially ordered "Golden Dayi Brand" and "Silver Dayi Brand" in the Chinese discussion community. Unfortunately, counterfeits of these famous tea cakes start to emerge in the market. On the other hand, those genuine tea cakes are almost kept by the collectors and aficionados who treat them as their precious collections. For the Puerh tea lovers, keeping these good Puerh tea in their hands is a smart choice because it is not easy for them to obtain a piece of good Puerh tea cake as what they did in 2003. It's a pity if we brew up the immature Puerh tea which could have had a great aging potential.

However, from another point of view, good Puerh tea cakes being kept and collected is an disadvantage to the general education of Puerh tea. Unlike the other subjects, Puerh tea's appreciation cannot be taught and spread by pure text. Even though photos and video clips are used, the special sensations, aroma, aftertaste and the body feeling after having a sip of Puerh tea cannot be transmitted through the Internet.

Appreciation of Puerh tea is a kind of human art which is for your relaxation, recreation and personal experience. You are not perfectly sharing the same experience as the author does if you only read on the pure text of the tasting notes, just like you are being an audience rather than the football player. Even though you may be an awkward football player, you can gain your personal experience by playing the game personally. Only being an audience will never help you to learn more about the skill of playing football. It is the same for learning Puerh. You have to experience it.

However, how do you start to learn Puerh without authentic tea sample?

Cloud recently pulls out one of my collections, the 2003 Silver Dayi Brand Raw Tea Cake as so to check it's aging condition. Oh, GREAT! The authentic aroma of Menghai tea is so obvious that many aficionados would like to have a sip, although there is still a little imperfection of having a little smoky smell nowadays. At this moment, Cloud has a great thought. That is to share this marvelous experience with you. I decide to break up a "2003 Silver Dayi Brand" and mail to those who want to experience the tea by themselves.

As you can see from the pictures that I have already broken up a "2003 Silver Dayi Brand" entirely. If you want to have a 10g sample, simply write me an E-mail with subject "Sample of 2003 Dayi Brand" to:
lord@tsl.net.hk

E-mail contents:-
Subject: "Sample of 2003 Dayi Brand"
Internet nickname: abc (no need to provide real name)
Discussion Forum: livejournal / pu-erh.net / others
Mailing address: [address] (an address you can receive the sample)

The samples and the postal fees are the Christmas gift. If you really want to join the activity, you just simply let me have an mailing address. Please state your country, otherwise, the sample will never reach you.

Of course, while you are enjoying an authentic 2003 Menghai Puerh tea, you are also responsible to write a 200 words tasting note to be posted on the discussion forum where you registered.

Certainly, having done a good job will be rewarded. I will mail a small piece of this "2003 Silver Dayi Brand" together with the Trademark Ticket, Description Ticket and the Wrapping Paper as a small gift for the best commentator (p.s. this is the only gift for all the Chinese and English discussion forum. Of course, if your article is outstanding, I will let you have something good as well).
